INURED’s mission is to contribute to the development of high-level research and scientific training in Haiti with the aim of improving the educational, socioeconomic and political conditions of Haiti’s people.  As a "think and do” tank, INURED’s collaborative research program provides powerful data analysis, multidisciplinary research and evaluation techniques as tools for Haiti’s policymakers to address the wide range of issues affecting Haiti.

Although our projects are varied, INURED's main focus revolves around three types of activities:
• Research and Training
• Production, Centralization and Diffusion of Knowledge
• Community Intervention

Most importantly, INURED is a collective initiative that involves Haitian and foreign researchers with the support of local and international partners. The Institute forms part of an international network of universities and research centers that collaborate actively in the implementation and development of its program of activities.  INURED’s strength stems from this access to scholars from around the world  who are interested in reshaping and contributing to Haitian academics and policies. Beyond that, however, its power lies in its dynamic linkages and deep connections to many diverse sectors of society in Haiti including: marginalized communities, universities, NGOs, businesses, international agencies, and local authorities among others. Programs and initiatives reflect these relationships as well as the institute’s multidisciplinary and collaborative philosophy in understanding and engaging contemporary issues.
